Yesterday night, the the world got a whole lot less magical. Butch Evans, my Father-in-law, died in a tragic motorcycle accident. At least he died doing something he loved so much! He shared with me his love with motorcycles and all things motorized and fast. He patiently taught me so much about cars, life and loving others. He was the most amazing grandpa! It makes me the saddest to know that my youger kids won’t remember the amazing guy that taught me so much of how to live and love life. Or how much he loves them! He was truely a great role model to me. A model of service, putting family first, loving and living the gospel. He was a man of the earth, worked with his hands, and I swear he knew how to do or build Anything! It is just amazing to me how strong he was and how much we all depended on him. And he loved to serve! From taking us to Lake Powell, or digging out someone stuck off-roading, to helping me fix my stupid cars when they would break down. He was a tinkerer, a lover of old cars, submarines, war movies, and most especially taking his grandchildren out on motorcycle rides! I don’t know what we will all do now without him. He will be missed!
We love you Butch! I know you are with your father and mother now and the Savior that you loved and served so well. I will miss you so so much. Until we meet again.
